You guys. You know how I enjoy finding ways to save money, right? Especially simple, uncomplicated ways?
Well I found something I just can’t keep to myself. And this post isn’t even sponsored. It’s just one mom, who found something amazing, sharing it with all the moms she knows to help them save a few bucks.
Because we gotta stick together.

Have you heard of CardCash.com? It’s a site that buys unused gift cards – but that’s not the exciting part. Then they sell them to people like you and me at a discount. So we’re basically getting money at a discount.
Here’s my experience. Last weekend, I took a few kids to a movie to celebrate my son’s birthday. I bought e-gift cards on CardCash (they also sell and mail traditional plastic gift cards) for Fandango and AMC Loews for 15% off face value, and they arrived in my email in-box a couple of minutes later. Then I bought an e-gift card for Cold Stone Creamery for 22% off face value, which was also emailed to me immediately.*
The gift cards worked perfectly. I bought our movie tickets on Fandango, bought popcorn and snacks at the theater, and took the boys out for ice cream after the movie. For a birthday outing that cost $70, I only spent $56 because I’d bought gift cards at a discount.
Love. Love. Love. There are all kinds of gift cards for sale. Ulta Beauty. Airline carriers. Bartells. Mamas, there are even STARBUCKS gift cards on there.
Hobby Lobby.
Red Robin.
Qdoba.
The list goes on.
The discounts vary based on the face value of the cards and (I imagine) buyer demand, but there are definitely great deals to be had. See all the brands they carry here.
And, because it’s a resale site and I guess it’s always possible there are unscrupulous people who try to sell CardCash invalid cards, you can be confident you won’t get ripped off because they offer a 45-day guarantee. So if you buy a card and it doesn’t work, they’ll give you your money back if it’s within the 45-day window.
Since you never know what could happen outside of the 45-day window, I wouldn’t use this as a source to buy gift cards as birthday gifts for others. But I totally intend to use it to score savings on things I already plan to buy, or reduce my out-of-pocket costs for fun family outings.
And I hope you find it useful, too. Take your family out to dinner Friday night and enjoy it even more knowing you’re saving them money!

*This was my personal experience. Their website indicates it could take a few hours to receive your card, so last-minute purchasing probably isn’t recommended.
