I LOVE Christmas movies. I love that they are simple and feel good. I love that you know they will end on an upbeat note. I love that they require zero effort to watch. The great thing is you have tons of choices when it comes to movie watching so you can find the network that is right for you, your budget and your family. Plus, of course, you have to always make sure you have time for your favorites that you watch every year! We always get a Home Alone marathon in there!
Hope this roundup helps you find the best holiday films for your family this year!
Netflix
7 new Christmas movies are coming to Netflix this year and they start November 1st! You can sign up for a Netflix account online and cancel anytime. Plans range from $8.99-$17.99. I will be honest that I’ve recently gotten into The Great British Baking Show and I’m looking forward to the Christmas specials.
Hallmark Channel & Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
Hallmark Channel will be sharing 39 new Christmas movies this year. They started on 10/22. You can view the full Hallmark Channel full list online! Also, there is a separate list for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Subscribe via Sling TV, Philo, Frndly or check with your cable provider if you have cable. I am a subscriber to Frndly and have found it to be the most affordable option for a small budget. Christmas movies start this year on October 21st.
Wondering what the difference is between the Hallmark Channels? Here is how they break down!
Hallmark Movies Now
Hallmark Movies Now is a streaming service from Hallmark that streams older movies. They don’t show newer movies. I shared my experience from a few years ago with this app and you can take a look at that if you are interested in more information. They have been loading up more movies over the last couple years, but remember they aren’t the new movies. This is not the service for you if you want to see what is newer.
Amazon Prime
I don’t see any information on Amazon Prime creating their own movies for Christmas this year, but it can be a great way to watch some of the best Christmas movies of all time! Whatever your favorites are, if you have an Amazon Prime account check it out because they might have options available to watch! To get an Amazon Prime subscription you can go directly through Amazon!
GAC Family
GAC Family is a new television network with the tagline of “Stories Well Told.” This network just launched last year. My friend Emily Hutchison of The Hutch Oven has a baking show on their app so make sure you download that as well. You can find information about their schedule right here. If you aren’t sure if GAC family is available to you, you can ask your service provider. They are also being launched on a lot of the regular streaming platforms. To subscribe ask your cable provider or Philo, Frndly, Sling TV. The Christmas fun starts this year on October 21st.
Super Channel
For our Canadian friends, you’ll want to check out Super Channel for all your Christmas watching! They have a full Christmas list online. Super Channel offers a variety of ways to subscribe!
Lifetime
It looks like Lifetime is showing 35 new Christmas movies this year! The first one premieres on November 5th. They have a full printable schedule on their Website. Getting Lifetime through your Cable provider is the best way to go. You can also find it via Hulu + Live TV & Sling TV.
UpTV / Up Faith & Family
UpTV has new movies starting November 1st! The full schedule is available on their Website. They are showcasing 17 new movies this year! Check with your cable provider, download the UpTV app or find on frndly. The Christmas fun begins on November 4th.
Pureflix
Pureflix has a great roundup of some of the best Christian Christmas movies. Some of these are exclusive to PureFlix and a great way to have Biblical stories at part of your Christmas watching. You can subscribe directly on the PureFlix Website.
Disney +
A new miniseries based on the Santa Clause film series is coming to Disney+. We always love watching the Santa Clause movies as a family so this could be a fun series. Here is the trailer!
No shortage of fun ahead of us. I am ready for all of it. Bring on the Christmas movies! Are you ready?
