Little kids love themed activities, and the seasonal ones can be some of the most fun! These can all be done in one day or over a few weeks, whatever works for your family!
It all starts with the book! The Mitten by Jan Brett is one of our favorite winter stories. This is the tale of an adventurous little boy, his white mittens, and some animal friends that are looking for a warm place to stay on a snowy day! The illustrations are incredible, and you kids will adore this story if they haven’t heard it already!
Mitten Shaped Rice-Krispy Treats
3 tablespoons butter
1 package mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
1 mitten cookie cutter
Sprinkles(optional)
Frosting(optional)
Melt butter in large pot over medium heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth. Add Rice Krispies, mix until combined.
With large spatula, spread mixture onto a greased, medium cookie sheet. Pour sprinkles on if you’re using them. Let cool for an hour or so.
Causing a spatula to loosen underneath the Rice Krispies, slide off of cookie sheet onto a large cutting board. Cut mitten shapes out.
Frost if desired, and enjoy!
