- Beth Moore – Beth Moore, y’all. To try to overcome my nervousness in interviewing her, I pulled on some bright red boots and guzzled a lot of coffee. She was funny, so gracious and so very kind. I loved what she had to say about what she wants the next generation of women to know when it comes to living a life of leadership and faith.
- Megan Garrett – For a lot of you, you tell us that marriage and how to make yours the healthiest it can be is a top priority. Megan Garrett, that gorgeous smokey voice you hear as part of the group Casting Crowns, told me about a really powerful approach she and her husband have taken when it comes to dealing with her being on the road every week without him able to travel with her.
- Les Parrott – Les Parrott has personally blessed me so much as a huge supporter and endorser of my book Raising an Original and he and his wife Leslie have helped so many couples gain fresh perspective and tools for their relationships. On his episode on the podcast, we got to talk about two issues couples face today, one that hasn’t changed in all the time Les has been working with couples, and one that is unique in our day and age.
- Mo Isom – She’s probably my cousin through my mom’s side of the family and she’s definitely a needed and bold voice today when it comes to frankly and courageously tackling the topic of sex in our faith communities today. She’s Mo Isom and hers was one of those conversations that flew by. Here’s just one of the gems from that episode and please note: You might want to pop in those ear buds if you’ve got little ones around.
- Dannah Gresh – We’ve also welcomed several guests who are leading voices in helping equip us with insight and tools for the parenting lane. Dannah Gresh shared one of the most important things she’s learned about a risk reducer for parents and kids when it comes to some of the most difficult challenges we face today.
- Emerson Eggerichs – Emerson Eggerichs also weighed in with some fascinating insight on the relationship between mothers and sons, and how moms can communicate far more effectively with their sons if they can include just one simple thing.
- Sam Kelly – I felt like I had made a new best friend when I got to talk with popular radio host Sam Kelly. She talked with such transparency about the failure of her first marriage and how she navigated that private blow while in the public eye and how God used it in a powerful way.
- Max Lucado – You could have pinched me when I discovered that I was going to have the opportunity to interview this next guy. Max Lucado joined me on the podcast with this beautiful and encouraging insight into what hope means.
- Kristen Schell – She’s here in my town of Austin, Texas, but you can see her influence in front yards across the country. Kristen Schell is the heart and mind behind the Turquoise Table movement, and any time I get to be around her, she challenges me in all the best ways to up my neighboring game and simply welcome and gather people. I loved getting to hear about how her whole idea for starting the Turquoise Table experience and was reminded afresh that God can give us some of the simplest, best, and most effective ideas.
- Bob Goff – My content coordinator Rebecca Beckett and I could not stop laughing over this next one. On a random Tuesday, out of the blue, we got a random email telling us that Bob Goff would love to be on the show and that I could call him. Like…right now. For an interview. Y’all, Rebecca and I scrambled to figure out how to record him and how to make it all work…and would he really even pick up the phone. Well, Bob did, and what followed was a wide-ranging, utterly fascinating conversation. There is all kinds of treasure in that full episode, and I particularly loved Bob’s thoughts on creating true connection with people, that it’s a discipline.
- Priscilla Shirer – Overwhelming, this last guest I’m going to highlight was the 2018 favorite of our listeners. And I completely understand why. Gracious, funny, wise…that’s Priscilla Shirer. Our time together was so encouraging, so grounding, and it was hard to choose just one snippet from an episode that was packed from end to end as one of the most powerful conversations I’ve ever had on faith, family, career. Priscilla helped bring empowerment and focus to women as we navigate opportunity and mothering, with these compelling words.
