I hope that you had a very Merry Christmas! The tinsel and paper is strewn everywhere and the hustle and bustle is now over. As we head into the New Year with new challenges and blessings ahead I’m ever aware of a great need I have.
I am a total POWER FREAK! You probably would not have guessed this about me. You want to know something else? I try to teach my kids to be power freaks too!
The older I get the more I’ve learned just how important this Power is in my life and in every situation I seek to find where I can use this power I have to influence others. Through many of my life’s trials I have learned that not only do I want Power, I NEED Power! I have just got to have it!
Now before you think I have totally gone off my rocker…let me explain…This Power that I seek is God’s amazing Holy Spirit Power! What I have learned is that the more I submit and surrender to God the more POWER I have. I live for this power, I look for this power, I ask for this power, I even beg for this power! Another little secret..even when I am at my weakest with no words or strength to ask, God STILL fills me with it!
This is my prayer for you this week:
“I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great POWER for us who believe. That POWER is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far about all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Eph. 1:19-23 (Capitalization added for emphasis)
Do you find yourself in need of some power? Let’s start out this week needing God more than we ever have so that He can fill us more than He ever has.
