Stumped on ideas for how to spend your spring break? Well, here you go! We’ve got six days worth of ideas for different things to do, from outdoorsy type things to things to do if it’s raining outside! Take these suggestions, follow them as you’d like, feel free to mix up the days to suit your own needs, and ultimately, just have fun!
Day 1: Movie Theater Monday
To kick off our week, I thought a movie Monday would be a good choice! With endless theater options around the Sound, you can stay pretty close to home with this one. Bonus points if you can find a theater that does discounted morning matinees! (Be aware though, many theaters only offer those prices if you buy ahead of time online!)
Why not hit a movie and then take the kiddos for lunch at your favorite spot afterwards? Kid-friendly favorites like Red Robin or IHOP are always classics, or if you’re looking for something more Seattle-local, maybe a Dick’s Drive-In burger or a slice from Frelard Pizza! Since it’s the first day of the week, I left this one pretty open as we all settle into the groove of having kiddos home and getting our bearings!
Day 2: Trampoline Tuesday
Trampoline parks are all the rage now as a fun way for the whole family to burn some energy. With times for just your youngest kiddos at many of these places, you can take the littlest of littles and know that they are safe to play! Also, if you have active kiddos (I sure do!) this is a great way to get some of that energy out on a week when you could start going a little stir crazy!
After jumping all your wiggles out, why not make a stop at a local frozen yogurt shop? What a wonderfully sweet way to end your second Spring Break outing!
Possibilities include:
- SkyMania Trampolines & Menchies Frozen Yogurt-Kirkland
- Elevated Sports & Skinny D’s Frozen Yogurt-Bothell
- Altitude Trampoline Park & Blu Berry Frozen Yogurt-Marysville
Day 3: Imagination Wednesday
One of my favorite things about living in the Seattle area is the abundance of children’s museums around! With locations in Seattle, Everett, Burlington, and Tacoma, there’s one in reach for everyone. The best part is, each of these places has been specifically designed to grow and challenge the imagination of every child!
Of course, a day trip like this wouldn’t be complete without snacks, so I’ve assembled a few links to fun (and easy) make-ahead snacks that might give you some ideas!
Day 4: Great Outdoors Thursday
Take this day to get outside! Could we live in a better place to do so? There’s so much around here to do! From awesome kid-friendly hikes like Discovery Park in Seattle, to fun adventures like zip-lining up on Camano Island at Canopy Tours Northwest, there are so many options! Be aware that different things may be weather-dependent or require prior booking, but hikes should be good-to-go anytime (here are some kid-friendly hike ideas)! For a fun, more guided adventure, you could even check out the Northwest Trek wildlife park and see some awesome animals!
When you’re heading out, why not pack a fun picnic to bring with you? Put together some ham and cream cheese bagels (keep better than traditional sandwiches with mayo), cut-up fruit, and maybe some special cookies for a treat after burning all that energy being outside! Plus, these are things you can have your kiddos help you make, which adds to all the fun!
Day 5: Fun with Science Friday
Ready for a learning adventure with your family? So many options on this one too! Whether you hit up a local zoo like Woodland Park or Port Defiance, go for the full-on science experience at the Pacific Science Center, or take a longer trip to check out the Olympic Game Farm over on the peninsula, there’s so much to learn and so many places to do so! If I had my pick, I’d be heading to the game farm for sure! I mean, who doesn’t want to get slobbered by a buffalo?
Day 6: Skagit Tulips Saturday
When in the PNW, do as the PNWer’s do! Every year, droves of people head to the Skagit Valley to see the miles of tulip fields. Along with the tulips, there are many activities to check out around the area in the tulip-season spirit! And afterwards, a trip to the tulips wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Snow Goose Produce for their enormous ice cream cones! A trip up to the Skagit Valley is a fun adventure for everyone. Just prepare yourselves, you may encounter some traffic!

Here’s to a fun spring break! Hoping that you are able to stay entertained and keep your kids (and yourself) sane!
